Outstanding Master Student Award: Nicola Vollmer (TU Delft, Faculty of Architecture and the Built Environment, Department of Urbanism)

Nicola Vollmer’s award-winning project Untold Waters demonstrates how landscape architecture can address complex urban and ecological challenges through design-led research. Focusing on Cape Town’s informal river landscapes, she combines spatial analysis, ecological resilience, and community knowledge to develop locally grounded approaches to flood mitigation.

Outstanding Master Student Award: Jillian Cummings (Edinburgh School of Architecture and Landscape Architecture)

Jillian Cummings’ Fruitful Futures reimagines food as socio-ecological infrastructure, exploring how landscape architecture can foster care, stewardship, and more-than-human relationships. By integrating food production, ecology, and public space, she develops innovative strategies that reconnect communities with local landscapes and seasonal processes.
