Lecturer/Assistant Professor in Landscape Studies and Environmental Policy

Applications are invited for a Temporary post of a Lecturer/Assistant Professor in Landscape Studies and Environmental Policy within UCD School Architecture, Planning and Environmental Policy

Applicants must have a PhD at the interface between environmental policy and landscape studies, a strong demonstrable commitment to evidence-based research and publication, an ability to teach at University level, a capacity for graduate student supervision, a commitment to translating the fruits of research into innovation and impact, excellent interpersonal skills, and a capacity and enthusiasm for working in an interdisciplinary context on the interface of the UCD Landscape Architecture and UCD Environmental Policy subject areas, relevant UCD research institutes (e.g. UCD Earth Institute), and the wider academic community. It is expected that the successful candidate will be required to contribute two environmental policy (ENVP) subject modules and some undergraduate and graduate student supervision, and the balance of teaching and supervision into the Landscape Architecture (LARC) programmes. The successful candidate will contribute to the administration and promotio n of programmes in Landscape Architecture. The successful candidate will carry out research in areas such as:Land Use Policy Climate Adaptation and Design Agriculture and Environment Environmental Communications Design Innovation for Policy and Practice The School of Architecture, Planning and Environmental Policy has an international reputation as a centre of excellence for research and teaching in a multidisciplinary School ranked in the QS top 150. The School offers the only Landscape Architecture programme in Ireland, with the School having established an excellent reputation for design excellence with its faculty and adjunct staff maintaining an international profile. The Environmental Policy subject group are internationally recognised for expertise and experience in the direct application of environmental economics and policy research into the policy development process. The Group has provided direct policy advice to, inter alia, the Japanese Government, Irish Government, European Commission, European Environment Agency, OECD and World Bank and our graduates work worldwide. The School is located in the College of Engineering and Architecture which was awarded an Athena SWAN bronze award in 2019 for its shared commitment to ensuring that their faculty, staff and students experience an equal, diverse and inclusive environment. Lecturer/Asst Professor Above The Bar Salary scale: €54,849 – €87,724 per annum Appointment will be made on scale and in accordance with the Department of Finance guidelines
