Open Faculty Positions in Landscape Architecture at Rey Juan Carlos University in Madrid

Job Description

The Fuenlabrada School of Engineering at the Rey Juan Carlos University in Madrid is actively and continuously seeking for qualified applicants for Tenure Track Associate Professor positions (Profesor Ayudante Doctor) to join the Landscape Architecture faculty within the Architecture area of knowledge.

The Department is committed to supporting individual faculty research and teaching agendas that address pressing social, cultural, and ecological issues through the lens of landscape architecture. We strongly encourage candidates with demonstrated excellence in academia and practice to apply, aiming to join our faculty in the advancement of research and teaching of the next generation of landscape architects.

We are particularly interested in candidates with a bachelor’s in landscape architecture and a PhD on a relevant subject for the positions. Additionally, we welcome applications from those with a degree in Architecture, Agriculture Engineering, Forestry Engineering, Geography, Environmental Science or in Biology, provided they possess a Master´s degree in landscape architecture and a PhD in a landscape architecture-related area.

Requirements  

The candidates should meet the following criteria:

-A qualification in landscape architecture and a PhD in a relevant field of study for the position.

-A broad orientation in landscape architecture, including the ability to teach undergraduate landscape design studios and other specialized areas (landscape architecture technology, graphic expression and computation, history and theory).

-Competences in academic research and/or successful track record in professional practice.

-While not mandatory, previous teaching experience and involvement in discipline-related and/or university service (e.g., curriculum development and degree coordination tasks) could enhance the candidacy.

Please note that teaching will be conducted in Spanish; thus, proficiency in the language is a necessary qualification. Accreditation for the Profesor Ayudante Doctor category, issued by the Spanish National Agency for Quality Assessment (ANECA), is not required for the positions.
