Technion Israel Institute of Technology: Call for Ph.D. Application

Applications are welcomed for a fully funded three-year Ph.D. in the Faculty of Architecture and Town Planning to commence in October 2021.

The Technion Faculty of Architecture and Town Planning is launching a new fully funded doctoral program dedicated to international candidates of excellence. Additionally, selected candidates will be exempted of tuition for the entire duration of their studies. This unique research program is offered to up to seven candidates in the four academic programs that constitute our faculty namely, Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Urban Planning, and Industrial Design.

The newly offered doctoral program aims to recognize our commitment to academic excellence and the significant impact of research on our environment and communities in the age of the Anthropocene, climate change, resource scarcity, and urban growth among other challenges that affect our contemporary human societies. We highly value doctoral research proposals that fit with one or more areas of expertise that constitute the Faculty of Architecture and Town Planning.

Prospective applicants are invited to define a specific topic of investigation following the list of current faculty members and research laboratories and expertise available at the following links:

Research topics and expertise ranges from investigations in the fields of
architectural history and theory, material innovations, computational design and fabrication, architectural robotics, to research in the domains of territorial design, environmental ecology, transport systems, social transformations, and urban economics, among others. As such, our faculty offers a wide range of research methods that are supported by a state-of-the-art infrastructure.

Applicants are encouraged to contact potential supervisors with the objective of shaping their research proposal in one of our specific areas of investigations or at the crossing of multiple sources of knowledge available at the Faculty of Architecture and Town Planning.
