Landscape Architecture in Israel
Landscape architecture plays a critical role in Israel, where land resources are limited, and cultural and social issues are cardinal. The landscape architecture program at the Technion is already an influential agent in the planning and design of Israel’s landscapes, and aspires to develop further a comprehensive/leadership vision for landscape planning and design through research, education and professional activities.
About the Technion
Situated in the coastal city of Haifa, the Technion is the leading institute of science and engineering in Israel. The Landscape Architecture Program was established in 1975 and is the sole accredited landscape architecture program in Israel. The B.L.A. program enrolls approximately 80 students, and a research based M.Sc. degree was opened in 2011. A M.L.A. program was recently approved and we are looking forward its opening in the near future. The program is housed in the Faculty of Architecture and Town Planning, which also includes graduate programs in Architecture, City and Regional Planning and Industrial Design.
