Faculty:        Social Sciences

Department: Landscape Architecture

Salary:         Grade 8

£42,149 – £50,296 per annum. Potential to progress to £56,587 per annum through sustained exceptional contribution.

The Department of Landscape Architecture at the University of Sheffield is the only independent department in the field within the UK. We have an international reputation and track record of excellence in research, innovation and education in the planning, design and management of landscapes. The Department is part of the Faculty of Social Sciences and contributes to the Faculty research agendas of Health and Wellbeing, Sustainable Futures and Inclusive Society. This in turn sits within the wider university Vision, organised under its four pillars of research, innovation, education and one university.

Going forward we now wish to appoint a member of academic staff to a University Teacher. (We are also seeking to appoint two Lecturers/Senior Lecturers – see alternative advert.) We are looking for a creative and dynamic individual with a strong interest in/commitment to the discipline and profession of landscape architecture, an enthusiasm for teaching delivery and a collegiate outlook and approach to their work and future role in the Department. You will have a disciplinary background in Landscape Architecture or other relevant discipline e.g. geography, landscape ecology, planning, horticulture or urban design. You’ll be able to apply your disciplinary expertise in the context of Landscape Architecture, and demonstrate the ability to make a significant contribution to a Department that delivers leading Landscape Architectural research, vocational education and professional impact. We are specifically looking to appoint someone with an expertise in planning or planting.
